Wow! I skipped the Challenge this year because I knew I didn't have the time to write a post everyday. But doing a video every day? That boggles my mind. I bow to your work ethic.
I haven't given my story to anyone but my crit partners, so I haven't had to deal with friends and family reactions. One day, maybe, but not yet.
You're in luck then. This is really hard and I know a lot of writers who have fallen into this trap and then had strained relations with loved ones afterwards.
I let my friends and family see my first novel and nothing terrible happened, but nothing useful came of it either. So yeah, find other writers, definitely.

DeleteSound advice. It would be hard for most newbies to hear though.
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard for someone to hear that people don't like their stuff. It's devastating really: best that it comes from someone else.
