Love is blind...and sometimes a little strange.
Here's a few of the oddities of that thing we humans call love and
sex:
1. Married people often have similar DNA. No, they're not exactly
cousins, but their DNA codes have a lot in common.
2. Women can fake a sexy voice, but men, not so much. Like women
aren't blamed for faking enough things in the bedroom! Anyhow, seems women can
fool men by lowering their voice, whereas when men tried, women had a negative
response.
3. The brain in love is similar to the brain of an addict. A hit
of cocaine will register the same pleasure response as someone in love. Lust,
on the other hand, stimulates the hypothalamus. This area controls hunger and
thirst. Now we know why love is lasting and lust lasts until, well...the next
meal.
4. Men burn more calories during sex than women. That may seem
unfair, but hey- a calorie burned, is a calorie gone.
5. STD's rates are increasing, not among the youngest among us,
but in the elderly population. Seems those randy grannies and grandpa's need to
ask the kiddos for some condom advice when they call about computer
problems.
The Book:
Jo Leigh Harper comes from a long line of trouble-making, white
trash stock.
Tanner Coulter comes from a longer line of wealth-creating, blue
blood stock.
Jo graduated college top of her class, moving toward a future full
of possibilities.
Tanner dropped out of college, trading a law degree for drinking
games and one night stands.
A family crisis throws the rich party boy and the poor genius girl
together. The attraction is immediate, though neither one is a
heart-in-the-sand-drawing believer in true love. But as the summer sun heats up
along the shores of the Outer Banks, so does the connection between them.
Maybe, just maybe, they can win at love by defying reason.

Virginia, but dreams daily of the beach.
LOL that certainly is interesting stuff... I'm shocked about the rise of STD's in the elderly though! You'd think they'd have learned what NOT to do by now!
ReplyDeleteI believe we burn more calories. That's why I'm always starving after sex.
ReplyDeleteI'll never look at grandpa the same way again. At least he's earning that calorie burn before his nether regions start to burn...
ReplyDelete@ Suzy, all the old people in my family
ReplyDeleteare horny birds- but I always thought they were all talk!
@Alex, if it weren't for that sort of cardio, I'd be a total slug.
@Beer Guys, going out via STD is a way more exciting story than a stroke.
Thanks for having me over Rena! You're one awesome faerie godmother to know :)
I wrote an article yesterday based on a new report that shows that couples have MORE sex after 50 years of marriage. I know it's a scary thought...but apparently our elders are getting it on.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty interesting. The DNA part fascinates me, and not just because I was born in West Virginia...
ReplyDeleteThose are some interesting and scary facts.
ReplyDeleteInteresting info. Wow @ the std's in that generation.
ReplyDeleteBlame Viagra for the raise in STD in old people. It has been banned from my home, lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by everyone! I reply in email now, so if I didn't send you a note, it's not cause I don't love you!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, your posts always make me laugh, thanks for taking over the blog today!
Oh my. I never would have guessed about the STDs. That's crazy!
ReplyDeleteHey we men deserve to get #4 since we don't get #2. It's only fair.
