I have fallen into this trap. On both sides of this trap as a matter a fact. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. My negative voice is very harsh, but if it gets too bad, a few rounds of Dory (From Nemo) singing, "Just keep swimming" or in this case "Just keep writing" can be effective in drowning that voice out. For a while.
I don't think I've fallen into that trap. My trap is considering everything I write to be rubbish. I heard recently that a submission had reached the short list for a competition, so I went back and read it - and thought it was terrible! (I kept that to myself rather than emailing them an 'Are you sure?')
